I'm sorry, but I no longer wish to update my DA gallery and I doubt I will be coming back very often.

I never did like DeviantArt all that much, and mostly just came here because I had friends here. Nowadays all the people I'm friends with do not really do much on DeviantArt, so it is no longer significant to me.

For a little while I wanted to upload my FFXI screenshots to DA, but I never really was comfortable with doing so. This is not the kind of place I want to be in for a long time. The people in charge seem to like glorifying death, ugliness, and things that are base. I enjoy beauty and life and things which are clean, modest and elegant, and it hurts to see things which are opposed to that.

I've tried not to +favorite anyone or their work if anything in their gallery was beneath my standards, and have even removed people's work from my favorites if I didn't like something they had. But DA's system of linking through comments and favorites meant that I really couldn't control where someone went from my page. I didn't think I could recommend that my RL associates go here, especially if there were young children in their household.

I also hated the advertisements and not having control over them. Whether it was obnoxious banner ads or gilsellers linked to by Google. Do you know what it's like having gilseller links on your FFXI fanpage? It's like having a Babylon 5 fansite with links that let you make a deal with the Shadows. ^.^; Except that real people get hurt, which is worse.

I know several artists who are really quite cheerful and talented and create art that I like, and who have their homes here. But I'm not very talented, and this place does not help my cheerfulness any. Maybe I'll stop by every now and then to see some of their galleries, but I don't think it'll be very often.

... I was also kind of traumatized by some happenings elsewhere, but I guess it doesn't matter. I'm the only one who's being hurt by them. Except for the people who have to put up with me being depressed. >.> I'm sorry if it messes up my stories any.
